CCEP earns recognition
Green Wholesale Collective member Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has been recognised for its leadership in sustainability by global environmental non-profit CDP for the eighth year running
This recognition follows CCEP’s work on tackling climate change and acting to enhance water security. This makes CCEP one of a small number of companies to be awarded an ‘A’ score for transparency on climate change, giving it a place on the CDP’s prestigious ‘A’ List for the eighth time. CCEP also achieved an ‘A-’ score for its action on water security.
PROGRESS
This achievement reflects the progress CCEP is making against its This is Forward sustainability action plan which aims to reach net zero emissions by 2040, and was recently approved as being in line with climate science by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
One of CCEP’s most recent achievements was the introduction of its bolder on-pack recycling message which has rolled out across its 500ml rPET sparkling bottle range. This includes Coca-Cola Original Taste, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite and Dr Pepper.
The on-label ribbon highlights that the bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic and can be recycled again. This joins the existing ‘I am attached to recycle together’ messaging on the cap designed to highlight to consumers that no cap needs to be left behind.
These efforts are part of CCEP’s strategy to move forward on its commitment to collect and recycle a can for every one sold by 2030.
CCEP’s 2023 WINS
- 32,500 hrs of volunteering by employees to support local community projects
- 48.3% of products sold were low or no calorie (Europe)
- 54.6% of plastic used in CCEP bottles was recycled PET
- 99% of the water used in CCEP drinks was replenished
